To ensure the Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) targets, we need improved systematic approach over the whole construction sector. The BIMplement project is committed to reducing the gap between the predicted performance and actual performance of buildings by improving the quality of realized construction work. We are aware there is no real energy efficiency without quality where no quality without qualified workforce. In BIMplement to achieve the needed qualified workforce we promote required upskilling and trainings where BIM is used as a medium for better exchange of information and to foster interactions between different building phases.’’. The final goal is to come to upskilled workforce that is able to perform all necessary labor acts with a full understanding of the responsibility of their own profession and actions, as well as the relationship with the other professions and actions involved in the value chain.

BIMplement is working on a methodology for creating and standardizing the required qualifications and learning resources. To be ready for the future, subject-specific qualifications will be enriched with the skills and competences that are required to perform tasks in an nZEB project using BIM. By making use of a standardized methodology, the qualifications are transparent and comparable between the EU member states. This facilitates and provides EU mobility.

BIMplement has the following objectives:

  • To improve the overall quality of new nZEB constructions and renovations, whereby the entire value chain is tackled in a multidisciplinary approach in different sectors.
  • Create a new generation of professionals who are qualified to deliver high-quality nZEB projects. This, by using technical, cross-trade and BIM skills and competences.
  • To encourage interaction between different professions and professions, made possible by a flexible qualification method for integrating technical, cross-trade and BIM-related qualifications (skills, knowledge, competences) into the workplace learning environment.
  • To support the qualification and training schemes, a replication and exploitation strategy will be developed and validated.
